RIP Nora Ephron

Sadly one of my favorite screenwriters and filmmakers Nora Ephron has passed away on Tuesday night in Manhattan. She was 71…

She made 3 of my favorite romantic comedy movies “Sleepless in Seattle” , “When Harry Met Sally…,” and  “You’ve Got Mail” ……Her last movie was “Julie & Julia.”

Her breakthrough as a screenwriter was in 1989 When Harry Met Sally was one of the most quotable comedies in movie history…. This is my favorite line from the movie:

“I love that you get cold when it’s 71 degrees out. I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich. I love that you get a little crinkle above your nose when you’re looking at me like I’m nuts. I love that after I spend the day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes. And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it’s not because I’m lonely, and it’s not because it’s New Year’s, Eve. I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible. “

Her second film as writer/director was 1993’s Sleepless In Seattle, which I love and blogged about here.

In 1998 she co-wrote and directed You’ve Got Mail….. my “feel good” movie of all times!!!….I have to add this final scene from the movie…. Yes, it might be cheesy for some…. but I am a hopeless romantic and I love happy endings….Here’s to you, Nora Ephron… Thank you for giving us these moments….May you Rest In Peace

An Art Collector’s Living Room

Casa Cor is one of the biggest and most important events of architecture and decoration in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The 21st edition took place in the beautiful Palacete Linneo de Paula Machado. The mansion was built in the beginning of the 20th century…….For the event, 54 rooms were decorated by 86 different architects, interior and landscape designers.

One of my favorite rooms was designed by the Brazilian architect Gisele Taranto. He teamed up with art curator Mara Fainziliber, and lighting designer Maneco Quinderé to recreate a Living room of an Art Collector…… I love that he mixed contemporary art with designer furniture but still kept the ceiling, floor and walls original.

Royal Ascot 2012

The Royal Ascot 2012 was full of Mad Hatters and Elegant Hatters alike!… Choosing my Top 10 hats this year was a bit trickier than last year because there were much more options this year (even though there were new dress code regulations!!!)

The first three options were the easiest for me because I simply fell in love with them!!!

1. Lara Stone wore the perfect hat!!… it had just the right amount of craziness!!!

2. Princess Haya’s hat wasn’t as busy as Lara’s hat but it was still fun, modern, and chic.

3. Sophie, Countess of Wessex wore a beautiful hat by Jane Taylor… loved the lace!

4. I loved the shape and colour of The Queen’s hat on her. It almost looked like a twisted top hat and really made her look cheerful!!!

5.6.7. This fashionista wore Piers Atkinson’s Hyper Cherry Head Band that Anna Dello Russo made famous!!!

8. I am counting these 2 hats as one because they go together!!! One had champagne glasses and the other had the bottle!

9. Dutch designer Larisa Katz’s wore a crazzzy umbrella hat!!! I don’t envy the person who sat behind her lol !!!

10. And now that all the other events are over in London we can get ready for the Olympics 😉

Book Of The Week: Fendi Baguette

Italian fashion house Fendi is celebrating their 15th anniversary of its legendary Baguette handbag with a book called The Fendi Baguette.

The Fendi Baguette Book is published by Rizzoli, the new book features 250 pages dedicated to this iconic handbag that Silvia Venturini Fendi conceived back in 1997. It features vivid photographs of 250 versions of the Baguette in every imaginable color, embellishment, and size, plus those especially created by artists like Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons and Richard Prince!!!

I love that the book has essays by Sarah Jessica Parker. The actress actually helped make the Baguette an IT Bag when she carried it in the SATC series… The Fendi Baguette also happens to be one of the very first designer bags that was loaned to the series.

Before you go running to the bookstore, dust off your old Baguettes…. It is finally time to enjoy them and fall in love with them all over again!!! 😉

The Best Ad Louis Vuitton Has Ever Made!!!

Following the likes of Angelina Jolie, Sofia Coppola and Bono, 3 times World Heavyweight Champion Muhammad Ali and his 4-year-old grandson are the newest faces of the Louis Vuitton Core Values campaign.

Vuitton’s Core Values ad campaign wants to show the brand’s classic products used in “real” life and by “real” people, instead of the seasonal bags that are featured alongside models in the company’s other ad campaigns.

I love that 4-year-old C.J. is standing tall near his proud grandfather…You can almost feel how proud Muhammad Ali is of his grandson… you can almost see it in his eyes… A very emotional ad!!! ….. The best that LV has ever done!!!

Can’t wait to see the rest of the ad

Rebecca Minkoff and Friends Cover Call Me Maybe!!!

I know that I previously blogged about this song here but I just couldn’t resist blogging about it again after I found this cute video of fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff, Leandra of The Man Repeller, and model Hilary Rhoda which they shot as they got ready for the CFDA awards. They were all so funny and looked like they were having a great time. But the star of the video was Rebecca’s adorable son Luca, he is so cute and edible! …and I can’t get over The Man Repeller’s hilarious dance moves….she is so cool!!!….. Actually, they are all so cool for doing this video… It’s actually my favorite one of this song so far!!!

Oooh and don’t forget to notice all the Rebecca Minkoff accessories and clothing 😉

Guess I’m still not over this song!!! lol
