Book Of The Week: Travel Wisdom In Your Pocket

I love this set. It has Berlin, London, New York, and Paris all covered in three volumes per city. It tells you which Hotels, Restaurants, and Shops to go to…..with beautiful hand-illustrated maps and some useful informations such as opening hours and prices… I highly recommend this set of books if you are traveling to anyone of these cities any time soon!

My Favorite Highlights include:

London: Number 16, a chic South Kensington hotel in a beautiful Victorian townhouse with romatic gardens, celebrity chef Jamie Oliver’s restaurant which we love and of course the Dover Street Market.

New York: The Maritime Hotel, a former sailors’ dorm, now Chelsea’s coolest hotel, the Waverly Inn, Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter’s exclusive salon, and where to buy New York’s best cheesecake (very important for people with a sweet tooth like me!).

Paris: The original Ladurée, the best macaroons in the city, and my favorite go to fashion concept store Colette.

Best Dressed In Cannes Film Festival 2012

It isn’t over yet but Diane Kruger has already made her fashion mark on the 65th Annual Cannes Film Festival. She was trés chic in a Giambatista Valli couture gown for the opening ceremony and premiere of “Moonrise Kingdom”…. Diane put the finishing touches on her look with a sleek up ‘do, beautiful diamonds and a crystal Judith Leiber clutch….I  love that she wore pink satin, peep toe platform sandals instead of something excepted like silver!

I must say that this dress brought back childhood memories!!!… It reminded me of a dress that my mom had when I was little. It was a mint green chiffon flawy gown…. She looked so elegant in it and I remember thinking that I want to look just like that when I grow up!

The Elegant Musashi

Musashi is the most famous samurais in Japanese history. Miyamoto Musashi not only was a highly skilled swordsman but he wisely also believed in the necessity to excel in fields such as sculpting and writing. Hence, the name Musashi stands for strength balanced with delicacy…. I don’t think that they could have found a better name for this yacht if they wanted to!!!

I love its interiors… so clean and classy but welcoming at the same time… And I must say that the media room is TDF!!!

I guess its obvious that I’m in my holiday mood already! Can’t wait for the schools to be over!!!… Only a few weeks left 😉
