When we were in Florence last week we visited the Museo Salvatore Ferragamo … it was really beautiful… and it was interesting to see how far Mr. Ferragamo came and how he started!… I truly loved his original designs and am not surprised at all that they are back in fashion!
We couldn’t take pictures in the museum but I bought this beautiful book as a souvenir…..The book illustrates his creations for Hollywood actresses like Audrey Hepburn and Greta Garbo etc…. and it shows how his work embodied a social and a cultural change at that time!!!
This is one of my favorite photographs in the museum… Read the names!
I love it when old trends come back or in this case stay!!! Can’t get enough of those dresses!

This Villa in Austin Texas is by Brian Dillard Architecture. I love how the owners mixed modern and classic designs together… the strong design elements and general form of this very modern house were softened by the use of their classic furniture and accessories, like the dining room chandelier and mirror. I feel that the house is almost telling us the story of the owner’s journey!!!…. it doesn’t look like something cut out of a magazine but looks like a real home where you feel that each piece of furniture (whether modern or classic) was picked up and chosen by the people who live in it!!!…. Who knows? the furniture could be family heirlooms or they could be a collection of things from their travels!!!!…I love their art collection as well…I love that their choice in art is as diverse as their choice in furniture!
So what do you think?… Yes, there are a few pieces here and there that I wouldn’t have chosen… and I’m not a big fan of the floors … but in general … I love the whole idea and spirit of this place!
I am loving the new Bobbi Brown ad campaign…it’s so smart!!!
Let’s hope that the new makeup is as good as the ads!!!
Poor old makeup bag!!!
Hello, everyone!!!…. I’m back!….I was away for a short break to visit the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milano … It was amazing this year and we really enjoyed it very much… though I must say that we were exhausted by the end of each day because it wasn’t only huge … it was also packed every single day!!!
Anyways its good to be back… I actually missed posting on this blog!!!….and can’t wait to post about some of the places we’ve visited during our trip!!!
I always found labeled jars and other labeled household stuff rather ugly!… Well until I saw this picture below!…I love the way the labels were done here… so stylish and they have a minimalist look to them!!…They somehow remind me of the skin care brand philosophy that I used to use back in college days!

Back in 1989, on a rainy afternoon, seven-year-old Amy wrote a letter to Roald Dahl. Using oil, coloured water and glitter, Amy sent the author a personal gift: one of her dreams, contained in a bottle.
Here’s Roald Dahl’s wonderful response:

Reading his thoughtful response somehow touched me very much!!!… Roald Dahl was my favorite author when I was a little girl….I loved all his chapters in his books…. Starting from Matilda to Willy Wonka in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!!!
A few weeks ago there was a book exhibition here in Muscat and my daughter and I were so happy to have found all of his books!…. I got them all so that my 3 kids can go on the same fun adventures that I’ve been on as a child! 🙂
